“With the support of the Outer Banks Community Foundation and the Cannon Foundation, the Gardens are advancing projects that allow us to expand our current educational program,” said Gardens Executive Director Theresa Armendarez. “Laura’s commitment to the community, perspective and experience will help the Gardens build an educational program that is aligned with the needs of the local school community and visitors.”

Hensley has a wide range of educational experience, including formal classroom teaching, informal education in after-school programs, summer camps and program development.
