JOB TITLE: Instructor for agricultural machinery technology (John Deere)

PROFESSIONAL DUTIES:

Arkansas State University – Beebe, a two-year residential community college that is part of the Arkansas State University System, is inviting applications for a full-time Farm Equipment Technology Instructor to teach in its John Deere program.

We are looking for an Instructor/Trainer who has a strong background in one of the following areas: Agricultural Education, Agricultural Technology, Industrial Arts, Automotive/Diesel Engine Technology, Military Maintenance or any other maintenance/technology discipline. This individual will participate in teaching John Deere Equipment Maintenance courses for post-secondary students.

The successful must embrace online education and Zoom technology.

The hired person will:

  • Teach face-to-face and online.
  • Familiar with Canvas and Zoom technology to deliver online course content (training provided).
  • Offer in-person and online/zoom instructions on how to perform minor and major repairs on John Deere tractors and equipment.
  • Provide in-person and online/zoom instructions on how to perform regular preventative maintenance on John Deere tractors and equipment.
  • Provide in-person and online/Zoom instructions to diagnose problems and fix repairs on John Deere tractors and equipment.
  • Working closely with John Deere companies and dealers remotely to help with lab briefing.
  • Ability to create and effectively implement lesson plans and outcomes at the program level and follow the written curriculum.
  • Record student daily attendance and record attendance.
  • Record grades and ability to assess student performance.
  • Maintain relationships with advisory committee members to achieve department and college goals.
  • Work closely with the John Deere AG Technical Program Manager to achieve hiring and program goals.
  • Use Office 365 and other campus technologies appropriately and appropriately.
  • Provide a safe learning environment in the lab/store area.
  • Operate John Deere tractors and training aids safely.
  • Maintaining annual John Deere University Continuing Education requirements.
  • If needed, attend John Deere Instructor Development Week.
  • Perform any other related tasks as needed or assigned.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s degree
  • K-12 instruction or post-secondary instruction or experience as an industrial trainer or military trainer
  • Suitability in mechanical repair

PAYMENT: $51,233

JOB TITLE: Lecturer or Assistant Professor of Chemistry

PROFESSIONAL DUTIES:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION FROM POSITION

Arkansas State University—Beebe, a two-year residential community college affiliated with the Arkansas State University System is inviting applications for a promotion-eligible full-time chemistry teacher or assistant professor beginning August 2023.

The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the discipline and will teach a variety of chemistry courses including Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. The ability to teach organic chemistry is a must.

The hired person will:

  • Teach Face-to-Face, Hybrid, Online, Zoom, and Zoom Hybrid course offerings as needed
  • Teach on demand at our satellite locations
  • Maintain a roster of advisors in many math and science disciplines
  • Assistance in curriculum development and review
  • Participate in the course and program evaluation
  • Get involved in student attraction and retention initiatives
  • Serve on institutional committees

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire for teaching and community involvement rather than research and publication.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE:

Master’s degree in chemistry, organic chemistry or a closely related field. Ability to inspire, motivate and enable students to succeed. Strong computer and technology skills.
