Details announced for Hometown Christmas Event, Parade

The Hampton County Chamber of Commerce has released details of the upcoming Hampton hometown Christmas.

The Christmas parade takes place on December 9th. The parade will line up at 4pm at Piggly Wiggly in Hampton and disembark at 5pm. The parade moves west down Elm Street, then turns right onto Lee Avenue, then turns south to Magnolia Street and resolution at Second Street West by Dominion Energy.

Parade criteria:

  • All floats must be homemade (no commercial floats).
  • Each unit must be decorated for Christmas.
  • Only traditional Christmas music can be played.
  • All vehicles and swimmers must be marked accordingly.
  • No horses are allowed in the parade.
  • Santa Claus is not allowed on the parade units. There will be only one Santa, at the end of the parade on a fire truck.
